Editorial Policy

We separate what an operator has stated from what has been independently documented, and we attribute figures to the document they came from: a trading statement, a disclosure document, a published index or a set of hearing notes.

Where a trend is drawn from a survey we say who ran it and what it measured. Where a decision is local, such as a licensing condition attached in one district, we report it as local and do not extrapolate it into a national pattern.

We describe operators generically unless a named organisation is genuinely necessary as neutral background. We do not offer readers food safety guidance, and we report recalls and enforcement action as documented regulatory events rather than as advice.
