Ancorotti Group Expands Full-Service Perfume Production
The Italian beauty subcontractor Ancorotti Group is accelerating its full-service perfume division, Ancorotti Perfumes, with a new 23-million-euro

The Ancorotti Group is accelerating the development of its full-service perfume offering. The Italian beauty industry subcontractor, a historical player in the mascara segment where it is a global leader packaging approximately 150 million units annually, has structured itself around three companies: Ancorotti Cosmetics for makeup, Cosmoproject for skincare, and Ancorotti Perfumes. The group aims to reach a total revenue of 250 million euros with nearly 1,000 employees by 2026.
Renato Ancorotti, the group's founder and president, stated the broad ambition. "We want to be present in all product categories, including by relying on acquisitions if necessary," he explained.
A New Automated Perfumery Plant
Industrial operations rely on three production sites in Italy. The group's historic makeup plant in Crema accounts for over 60% of revenue and exports 90% of its production. A skincare facility in Parme primarily serves the Italian market, with domestic sales representing about 60% and the remaining 40% exported. The new, dedicated perfume production unit is also located in Crema, near the makeup factory.
This fully automated perfume plant required an investment of 23 million euros. It spans 5,000 square meters and has an annual production capacity of 1.5 million liters. The facility handles all stages of perfume production: alcohol blending, maceration, filtration, filling, and packaging. It currently serves clients in Italy and the United States, catering to both niche and large-scale industrial volumes.
Fragrance Creation and Hybrid Formats
For fragrance creation, Ancorotti Perfumes works through privileged partnerships with various composition houses. These collaborations allow the Italian manufacturer to offer its own juices for turnkey projects, covering the entire supply chain. The group also offers scented candles via a specialized partner.
The company is particularly highlighting its expertise in hybrid, alcohol-free solutions. It aims to use its makeup background to develop differentiating concepts, especially regarding textures and application methods. Innovations presented at the Esxence trade show included hybrid textures at the frontier between perfume and cosmetics.
These innovations ranged from sticks to powders, and included holographic mists, concretes, and gels that combine olfactory performance with skincare benefits.
Solid Growth Ambitions
While Ancorotti Perfumes still represents a modest share of group sales, its growth is rapid. For 2026, the company is targeting revenue of 15 million euros for this division alone.
"It is still a start-up activity," acknowledged Renato Ancorotti. He believes, however, that the investments in industrial tools and the full-service positioning are solid levers for developing this new venture as the group continues to diversify its portfolio.
