Beautyworld Middle East Marks 30 Years as Gulf Fragrance Hub

The Beautyworld Middle East trade fair will hold its 30th edition in Dubai from October 6 to 8, 2026. According to its organizers, the event's success highlights Dubai's rising status as a strategic center for fragrance creation, manufacturing, and distribution.
Major global fragrance players are increasing their investments in Dubai as a direct result of the region's growing importance. Mane recently inaugurated a new regional hub there, while IFF opened a creation center, following in the footsteps of Takasago. These moves are strengthening the United Arab Emirates' fragrance development capabilities.
This evolution is supported by a rapidly growing market. Mordor Intelligence forecasts the UAE's fragrance market will grow from $910 million in 2025 to $1.15 billion by 2030. For finished product exports by value, the UAE is now among the world's top ten exporters. The Gulf region is no longer just an importer of olfactory trends; it now contributes to their global diffusion.
A Rising Olfactory Influence
The international success of Gulf-region perfume brands has helped popularize traditional regional olfactory signatures like oud, musk, and amber, as well as the long-standing local practice of layering scents. Brands such as Lattafa and Armaf have gained global visibility through social media and e-commerce, notably via TikTok Shop, which gave them direct access to consumers in many markets.
Simultaneously, Western luxury houses are increasingly incorporating ingredients inspired by the Gulf region into their global launches. Products like Dior Sauvage Extrait and Creed Oud Zarian prominently feature oud.
Ali Asgar Fakhruddin, Chairman and CEO of Sterling Perfumes, whose brands are now present in over 140 countries, states that the Gulf is increasingly becoming a genuine source of beauty trends. "We are proud to be at the forefront of trends born in the Gulf that are reaching a growing international audience," he explained.
An Expanding Regional Ecosystem
Dubai's geographic position at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa has helped turn the city into a commercial platform that now concentrates a large part of the fragrance value chain. This spans from sourcing raw materials to fragrance creation, contract manufacturing, packaging, logistics, and distribution.
According to IGTPS, the fragrance market across all Gulf countries is projected to grow from $6.8 billion USD in 2025 to over $12 billion USD by 2032, significantly outpacing global sector growth.
International investments have also accelerated. In 2025, the L'Oréal Group acquired a minority stake in the Omani luxury perfume house Amouage, which saw its retail sales grow by over 60% in one year.
A Global Marketplace Platform
Organized by Messe Frankfurt Middle East, Beautyworld Middle East has become an essential meeting point for international buyers and regional brands. During the 2025 edition, Mercado Libre, Brazil's leading online sales site, began discussions with brands including Lattafa, Armaf, Afnan, and Rasasi. Several of these brands were subsequently launched on the Latin American e-commerce platform.
For Ravi Ramchandani, the show director of Beautyworld Middle East, the event plays an increasingly important role as a global platform connecting brands with distributors and retailers, turning meetings into opportunities for international market access. "The industry has recognized the importance of this region. It is now about bringing the right buyers and the right brands together," he emphasized. Thirty years after its launch, the fair reflects a massive transformation in the fragrance industry.
