Tropic Skincare has reopened the doors to its headquarters in Croydon, England, UK, marking a significant milestone in the company's history. The skin care and cosmetics brand, founded by Susie Ma, has completed phase one of a £5 million investment into its operational location. This investment is a key part of the company's plans to refresh and update its office space, manufacturing facilities, and in-house laboratories.

## Background The decision to refurbish and update the headquarters was sparked by Susie Ma regaining full ownership of the business from Lord Alan Sugar. According to Carlton Connell, Managing Director of Tropic Skincare, this change in ownership led to a desire to refresh the workspace. Connell, who has been with the business since its early days, was tasked with overseeing the project.

## The Investment The total investment is estimated to be around £5 million, which will be split into three phases. The first phase, which has now been completed, focused on revamping the headquarters, including the social space and front-facing position. This phase took five months to complete, during which time the staff continued to work in the space. The next phase will focus on the warehouse and dispatch area, which will be expanded to include a three-level mezzanine. This will enable the company to pick, pack, and dispatch products faster, allowing for growth.

## Future Plans The final phase of the investment will focus on redesigning the factory, which will include the installation of new machinery and automation. This will enable the company to upskill its staff and improve efficiency. The company is also planning to update the social spaces in the warehouse and dispatch area. With the completion of phase one, Tropic Skincare is poised for future growth and innovation, with its revamped headquarters serving as a hub for its internal team members and network of ambassadors.

The revamped headquarters is home to almost 300 staff members and is designed to be a space that fosters innovation and collaboration. The company's investment in its operational location is a significant step forward, and the completion of phase one marks an exciting new chapter in the company's history.
