Profumo di Firenze Launches Gourmand Extrait Tutto Caramello!
Profumo di Firenze unveils a decadent caramel-centric extrait, while Origin by Ocean's marine-derived fucoidan wins a sustainability award.

Two distinct developments highlight different facets of the fragrance and beauty world this week. The niche Italian house Profumo di Firenze has released a new gourmand extrait de parfum named Tutto Caramello!. Separately, the ingredient supplier Origin by Ocean has seen its fucoidan bioactive, OCEANBOOST™ LF, named Sustainable Ingredient of the Year at the European Natural Beauty Awards.
A Decadent Caramel Extrait
Profumo di Firenze has launched Tutto Caramello!, a new extrait de parfum in its Extrait Collection. The fragrance is a gourmand composition centered on salted caramel, glazed vanilla, and powdered sugar, softened by jasmine and white flowers and grounded with light woods and amber. The small house, founded by the Galardi family in 2016, creates scents intended to capture the sensory experience of modern Florence rather than recreate historical perfumes.
The scent opens with a pronounced accord of croissant and icing sugar before moving into a soft floral heart. It ultimately settles into a warm, sweet base that maintains its gourmand character throughout the entire wear. The perfumer behind the composition is Lorenzo Berti. The review describes the fragrance as an unapologetically indulgent ode to dessert, evoking imagery of caramel drizzled over gelato or a waffle cone. A promotional giveaway for a 100ml bottle is open to registered readers in the USA and Canada, with entries closing on October 16, 2026.
Sustainable Ingredient Awarded
OCEANBOOST™ LF, a fucoidan bioactive from Origin by Ocean, has been named Sustainable Ingredient of the Year at the European Natural Beauty Awards for 2026. The ingredient is derived from invasive Sargassum seaweed harvested in the Caribbean and is developed for topical cosmetic applications. This marks the second consecutive year an Origin by Ocean ingredient has been recognized by these awards, following OCEANTHIX™ LV winning Innovative Natural Raw Ingredient of the Year in 2025.
The company emphasizes that its blue biorefinery platform is designed to transform problematic marine biomass into multiple high-value ingredients, not only a single hero component. The development of OCEANBOOST™ LF is driven by a principle that sustainable ingredients should not require a compromise on performance. Testing has generated evidence supporting its benefits for skin resilience, firmness, elasticity, and smoothness. Accepting the award in Paris, Origin by Ocean's Application Development Activist Marc Desmarais noted the significance, stating, In this era and moment when sustainability isn’t necessarily super trendy, and is not necessarily the easiest route, this means a lot for the hard work that we are doing.
