Beautyworld Middle East Marks 30 Years as Gulf Fragrance Hub
The Beautyworld Middle East trade fair celebrates its 30th edition in October 2026, highlighting Dubai's rise as a strategic global fragrance centre.

Beautyworld Middle East will hold its 30th edition from 6 to 8 October 2026 in Dubai. According to the event organizers, this milestone reflects Dubai's growing role as a strategic centre for global fragrance creation, manufacturing, and distribution.
Major international fragrance companies are expanding their presence in the city. Mane has enlarged its regional facilities. IFF recently opened a creative centre in Dubai, following a similar move by Takasago. These investments have concentrated more fragrance development capability within the UAE.
Market Growth and Export Strength
This corporate expansion is supported by a fast-growing local market. Mordor Intelligence forecasts the UAE fragrance market will increase from USD 910 million in 2025 to USD 1.15 billion by 2030. The UAE now ranks among the world's ten largest exporters of finished perfume by value. The Gulf region is no longer just an importer of fragrance trends but a significant contributor to selling them globally.
Gulf Olfactive Trends Go Global
The international success of Gulf fragrance brands has popularised regional olfactive signatures. Notes like oud, musk, and amber, along with the local ritual of layering scents, are now found worldwide. Brands such as Lattafa and Armaf have gained visibility through social media and e-commerce platforms like TikTok Shop, reaching consumers directly across multiple markets.
Western luxury houses are also incorporating these elements. Global launches like Dior Sauvage Extrait and Creed Oud Zarian now feature oud as a central note, rather than reserving it for regional editions.
Dr. Ali Asgar Fakhruddin, Chairman and CEO of Sterling Perfumes, notes the Gulf is becoming a source of beauty trends. His company's brands are now in over 140 countries. "We are proud to be at the forefront of global trends that originate in the Gulf and reach audiences around the world," he said.
A Complete Fragrance Ecosystem in Dubai
Dubai's geographic position has helped it host much of the fragrance value chain. The city now serves as a platform for raw material sourcing, creation, contract manufacturing, packaging, logistics, and retail. IGTPS projects the wider GCC fragrance market will grow from USD 6.8 billion in 2025 to more than USD 12 billion by 2032, outpacing global industry growth.
International investment has accelerated this development. In 2025, L’Oréal Groupe acquired a minority stake in Omani luxury fragrance house Amouage, which saw its retail sales grow by more than 60% year-on-year during the same period.
A Platform for International Access
Organised by Messe Frankfurt Middle East, Beautyworld Middle East has become a key venue connecting Gulf brands with international buyers. During the 2025 edition, Brazil's leading online retailer Mercado Libre began discussions with brands including Lattafa, Armaf, Afnan, and Rasasi. Several of these brands later launched on the Latin American platform.
For Ravi Ramchandani, Event Director of Beautyworld Middle East, the show translates meetings into market access. "The industry decided this region matters." he highlighted. Three decades on, the event illustrates the Gulf's transformation into an influential global fragrance hub.
